Huntsville Real Estate Sales Statistics – May 2011

By: Huntsville Real Estate Expert Mike Manosky On June 23, 2011

As expected, May saw an upswing in home closings. The increase in the number of closings is partly due to the April 27th tornadoes. The storms pushed many of the April closings into May. The sales numbers also showed there were approximately 70 less homes sold compared to May 2010 when the first time buyer tax credit was in place.

It is a great time to buy in the Huntsville market. Interest rates for a 30 year mortgage are in the 4.5% range. Prices are very affordable and the selection is great. Let us know if we can help you find a great Huntsville area home.
